"To improve the user experience, we have now taken action. We have sent out an update to the bike's software, which applies to all Pedal bikes sold before Vässla's bankruptcy as well as our PRO model. Our Core model, on the other hand, is decoupled from the app and is therefore not affected by this update."
This update improves the bike's software to provide you with a smoother and more reliable experience. The goal is to make the bike more accessible, easier to use, and eliminate the issues that have occurred previously.
What have we changed?
- Automatic unlocking – The bike now unlocks automatically when you start it, without the app being needed.

Assistance mode at start – The bike always starts in assistance level 3, the highest level.
"Previously, the functionality of the bike was entirely dependent on the app working and being connected. If the app or the connection had issues, the bike could not be used, which caused problems for many. Therefore, we have now simplified these functions directly in the bike."
Here's how to update your bike:
- Insert the battery and make sure it is charged.
- Place the bike where there is good mobile reception, preferably outdoors.
- Start the bike and let it stand for about an hour. The bike may turn off automatically, but the update continues in the background.
- Turn off the bike and start it again.
- Now you should be able to cycle with assistance directly – without using the app.
